Leyland Bus – Bus Parts
Formed in 1896 as the Lancashire Steam Motor Company the company subsequently changed its name to Leyland Motors in 1907. Almost 70 years later, Leyland merged with British Motor Holdings to form the British Leyland Motor Corporation (BLMC). 1975 BLMC was nationalised by the British government and became British Leyland, which changed its name to Rover Group in 1986. Leyland Bus emerged from the Rover Group in a management buyout of the bus business. It was subsequently acquired by Volvo Buses in 1988 and the Leyland name disappeared from the bus market in 1993.
